In 2007 this Magpie was released on Lazy Mountain in Palmer, Alaska.

James is on the ladder and Joan is on the ground.

Time to leave.

James and Joan watched (and heard) the magpie as it circled around the area deciding where to settle. The question is, "Was it one of the group that showed up the next summer?"
