Volunteer Needs

  How Can You Help The Alaska WildBird Rehab Center?
Rehab Clinic Volunteer Hand feed, medicate, care for and treat sick or injured wild birds. Requirements: be reliable, be 18 or older, be a team player, be willing to learn, be willing to get dirty, be able to handle fish, mealworms, and rodents (bird food).
Education Become an educator for AWBRC working with a non-releasable, program bird (special training required). Promote Alaska WildBird Rehabilitation Center. You can do this one-on-one with friends and people you meet or help develop a formal educational program for AWBRC.
Baby Bird Care Raise and release orphaned baby birds. Seminar held each spring for training.
Special Events Help set up and organize picnics, education classes, general membership meetings and fundraising events.
Publications Write articles and fact sheets for AWBRC publications and Website. Develop AWBRC training manuals and informational booklets.
Fund Raising Grant writing, donation requests, membership drives and special events. If you have other fund raising ideas, let us hear from you.
Office Help with computer input, answer phones, organize files, sort pictures and make scrapbooks or presentation packets.
Web Design Maintain and develop the AWBRC website.
